OSO (BEAR)

orthern New Mexico has a long tradition of wood carving, mainly organized around the production of santos (saints). In recent years, however, secular folk carving has become increasingly popular, and the late Felipe Archuleta, who carved this bear, played a major part in this movement. Menacing fangs are an Archuleta trademark.
